Children are provided the opportunity to take part in any of the following: Dance, Gymnastics, Martial Arts, and All Sports.

The HealthQuest Dance Academy welcomes you to the wonderful world of dance. Dance for grace and discipline is an investment many parents are anxious to make for their children and themselves. Staffed by professional instructors, the HealthQuest Dance Academy offers a well-rounded curriculum with classes for anyone interested in studying dance. Performing opportunities are available for students throughout the year.
Mini Movers is designed to introduce children into the world of dance and music. Children will learn the fundamentals of creative movement through steps, turns, jumps, and simple combinations. This class will give the child an awareness of body, rhythm and balance while exploring dance as play. Children must be potty trained to take this class.
The foundation of dance begins with ballet. Dancers will focus on basic positioning and steps and continue their progress through complex combinations. Classes will be taught with an emphasis on correct placement and body control to develop the potential dancer through the physical and mental discipline of the art.
Pointe, commonly referred to as toe dancing, is for the advanced ballet student.
Jazz will help dancers develop strong technique to bring them to the next level. Students will work on placement, leaps and turns, as well as, across the floor and a combination in that style.
Tap dance enables a dancer to create percussive sounds with their feet while developing rhythm, style and sound. Students will learn basic technique taps, flaps, shuffles and then progress to more complex rhythms, timing, leg/foot coordination and choreography done to various types of music.
Creative Dance introduces movement and music with an emphasis on improvisation and rhythmic play. This class is a creative outlet where children are encouraged to discover his or her individual talents. Children will learn to develop body awareness, musical awareness, patterns and sequencing. Students will explore the exhilaration, joy and magic of dancing.
Hip Hop will let your personality shine through. Learn the fundamentals of hip hp movement in a fun and energetic environment, while learning to “pick up” choreography.
Lyrical is a combination of ballet and jazz technique. This class will allow the dancer to express themselves creatively. Learn how to express yourself and be unique through movement.
Breakdance is a dynamic style that is a major component of the hip hop culture. Students will work on basic footwork, spins and freezes. Get ready to hit the floor, sweat and work it out.
Baton, also referred to as twirling, students will learn basic twirling skills while developing hand-eye coordination and wrist flexibility.
The 2016 Dance Recital will be held on Saturday, June 10th. Dress rehearsals will be held Tuesday, June 6 for the Monday, Wednesday, Friday classes and Thursday, June 8th for the Tuesday, Thursday and Friday
Registration begins October 12th and ends January 16th. You MUST register at the Program Desk. Anyone registering after January 9th will be charged a $25.00 late fee. We will NOT accommodate any late registrations after January 23rd. If you participate in the dance recital, you are responsible for your family or parent/child membership through June 30th. *This includes the June 25th billing cycle*
Tickets will be available for purchase at the program desk, and the front desk beginning May 1st. They will also be available for purchase at the door the day of the recital. Tickets are $12.00 each. Everyone must purchase a ticket, including small children. Complimentary tickets will not be provided this year. There are two separate shows. If you’re attending both shows, you must purchase tickets for each show. You must present your ticket at the door the day of the recital. Lost tickets will not be honored. Please purchase your tickets in advance, for there is limited availability at the door.

Q-Dynamics is looking for serious dancers looking to elevate their skills through competition. Please read through the requirements of being a part of HealthQuest’s competitive dance company while considering an audition.
Dancers will be training throughout the summer. Competitive dancers are required to take Ballet twice per week, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical and Hip Hop along with stretch and strength training. Q-Dynamics will be participating in 4 competitions per year held in late winter/early spring, with the possibility of reaching nationals held during the summer.
There is an additional $100 per month fee for Q-Dynamics Dance Company team members. Competition and costume fees are separate.

The HealthQuest Gymnastics Academy is a safe and healthy athletic environment that encourages children to participate in the sport of gymnastics. By participating in gymnastics, children will not only increase their physical abilities but also learn life skills.
An adult must escort all children to the Gymnastics Studio. No one is permitted in the Gymnastics Studio prior to class time. Any child who came from KidQuest will be taken back there after class unless the parent signs the child out. All other students must be picked up promptly after class by a parent. Gymnastics instructors are not responsible for your child once the class has ended.
You & Me (18-24 months)
Class Length: 40 minutes
You & Me is a great class for you to spend time with your child exploring the gym and learning body awareness through songs and free play.
You & Me (24-36 months)
Class Length: 45 mintues
This class builds upon the experience of the one on one class by introducing developmentally appropriate tasks. 3 year olds may remain in the class as each child potty trains and separates from parents at their own pace.
Class Length: 30 minutes
Pre-gym 3 is for children who are 3 years old and potty trained. Children must be able to separate from the parent as no adults are permitted in the classroom.
Class Length: 45 minutes
Pre-gym 4-5 is for children who are 4 or 4-turning-5 during the school year.
Class Length: 50 minutes
This class is for children who are in kindergarten. Instruction is more detail oriented while keeping an entertaining atmosphere geared towards this age group.

Our sequential, progressive gymnastics curriculum safely increases our gymnasts’ range of motion and body awareness while developing balance, coordination and the ability to perform basic gymnastics skills. Early in the program emphasis is placed on physical strength and flexibility in accord with the most proven principles of physical development. Recommendations to move from one level to the next are made by our experienced instructors.
Class Length: 55 minutes
A Level 1 class is designed for students who are new to the sport of gymnastics. During this first experience, each gymnast will learn their gymnastics terminology and positions, basic skills, and gain an understanding of each piece of equipment. These gymnasts will begin to focus on strength and flexibility as a foundation for their skills.

Level 2 class build upon the basic skill progressions, introducing new elements and progressively more difficult skills.
Class Length: 55 minutes
Tumbling and body awareness through floor drills on shaped mats and use of the tumble track.
Class Length: 2 hours twice per week
This is an invitation only class for those gymnasts who have met the requirements for Level 3 and who wish to progress into our USAG competition team.

The HealthQuest USAG Team concentrates on building well-rounded gymnasts who not only perform their skills with correct technique and execution, but also focus on teaching good sportsmanship and character development. This team is for athletes training for competition and serious about their pursuit of excellence in the sport of gymnastics.
Our gymnastics team is a group of hard working athletes who develop the skills necessary to compete in USAG league-sanctioned meets, and train to eventually compete in higher optional-level gymnastics. This progressive competitive program concentrates on building gymnasts who not only perform their skills with hours per week. The focus is to build a solid foundation that will be the first step leading to a high level of technique and execution.
Leotards for girls (without skirts), gym shorts and tucked in T-shirts for boys. Students work barefoot. No jeans, street clothes, or loose clothing. Denim, Nylon wind or cargo pants do not stretch and make it difficult to spot. Inappropriately dressed students will not be allowed to participate. Hair must be tied back. This is for the child’s safety. Use elastic hair bands. Please do not use bows, hard barrettes, or plastic clips, these hurt the child’s head during tumbling.
Please remove jewelry prior to class.

Martial Arts Academy
At the Martial Arts Academy, our mission is to strive towards the total development of the individual into a well rounded and responsible person. The curriculum will help the student learn to balance physical challenges, mental stress, and emotional conflict. We accomplish this through teaching and reinforcing the principles of respect, courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self-control, patience, and humility. HealthQuest Martial Arts has chosen a unique and refreshing approach to Martial Arts instruction. The core of our style is Tae Kwon Do, but includes materials from a variety of martial arts. The student will develop core strength, endurance, balance and flexibility while improving self confidence and self control.
Martial Arts Levels
This class covers the introduction of Martial Arts on an advanced level. Students will be expected to perform all necessary requirements while showing a high level of self-control. There is no sparring in this class. Emphasis will be placed on physical fitness, forms and self-defense.
Green & Above
This class builds on the skills learned in the white and yellow belt class. In this class sparring with protective gear is introduced for the first time. Students will be expected to learn more advanced forms and techniques such as punch and kick combinations and self-defense during sparring. At the Brown Belt and above level board breaking will be introduced in training, as well as, introduction to weapons such as the nunchaku, escrima stick and bo staff.
Martial Arts Attire
Attire and Rank Advancement
Students must only wear approved uniforms that are clean and in good repair. Females may only wear t-shirts under their uniforms. Students must have trimmed nails and long hair must be neatly secured. No jewelry of any kind is permitted. Bare feet are only permitted in the practice area.
All students are required to wear a white karate uniform. Uniforms can be purchased at HealthQuest for $40 plus tax. Students who spar (green belt & above) are required to use HealthQuest approved sparring equipment. This consists of headgear, mouthpiece, hand gear, foot gear, chest gear and groin protection for boys and men. All uniforms and equipment is to be purchased through the Program Desk or Front Desk.
Progress is measured by the award of color belts in accordance with the knowledge, skill, time and effort the student has dedicated to the program. Additionally, to mark progress between scheduled belt testing, the student will be awarded belt stripes as each new skill is mastered.
Belts are awarded quarterly during testing events. There will be a $40 fee for any student that is testing. To achieve a higher rank belt, the student must attend a minimum number of classes, learn factual Martial Arts knowledge relative to their age and belt level, and demonstrate appropriate self-defense moves and form.
Judo, which translated means “gentle way”, is best known for spectacular throwing techniques, but also involves considerable ground grappling utilizing specialized pins and control holds. Great for kids interested in middle and high school wrestling or a fun Martial Art! Our program is registered with the United States Judo Association and offers optional tournaments through USJA.

All Sports Classes
Family memberships are invited to enroll their 3-12 year old children in an All Sports class from September to June as a part of their membership.
Get your child exposed to a different sport each week! With an emphasis on gross and fine motor skill development and hand eye coordination, our fitness classes helps each child build basic fitness skills that will serve them for a lifetime. For younger children classes focus on simple stretching exercises and fun games, that encourage children to use their bodies and develop a love of physical activity. In addition, for older children these classes emphasizes overall health and fitness through more complex activities that encourage kids to further develop fine and gross motor skills , hand-eye coordination and teamwork. All kids develop an appreciation of physical activity in their lives and the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle as they grow. In addition, sports mentoring and early understanding of sportsmanship are also emphasized. While this class concentrates on overall fitness, it will be adapted to focus on seasonal sports such as soccer, tball , basketball, flag football, kickball, dodgeball, hockey, ultimate Frisbee, volleyball, lax AND MANY MORE !
All games and activities will be age appropriate. All participants report to court one if not using child transportation from KidQuest. Please remember to use transportation child must be signed in 10 min prior to class start. When the weather is nice we will take the class OUTSIDE !
Our new Generation Move kids group fitness classes are available to our young members (ages 7-13) looking to stay active! Generation Move provides more options for our youth to enjoy and maintain a healthy lifestyle. Classes are complimentary with membership but registration is necessary for Generation Move.
Kidz Ride is a 30-minute indoor group cardio class. It is a sport specific, non-competitive, individually paced ride that is designed to promote health and well-being. It is important to bring water and go at your own pace. Our indoor cycling now features MyRide, a forward motion video that allows you to feel as if you are traveling through a location just as you would in real life. Our newly opened MyRide Studio contains Keiser M3+ bikes.
*Children must have at least a 25″ inseam to take this class

HoopQuest Basketball Academy
Hoopquest Basketball Academy was created with the serious player in mind. The Basketball Academy will carry a $40 per class per month fee. Participants in the Basketball Academy will receive instruction and guidance from former Division I player and North Hunterdon player of of the century, Coach Candace Bunnell. For Kids Ages 5-16
This program develops children’s and teenagers’ mental and physical abilities, gets them to exercise, and helps them learn individual skills and teamwork. Most importantly, these kids have fun! Sports include basketball, flag football, kickball, and more! Now you can start your own homeschool class and your child can attend for free! Find a minimum of 8 kids that sign up for the class for at least 8 weeks. Enjoy your class in our state-of-the-art facility and we’ll provide the equipment you need. Your efforts in coordinating the class not only get you a free session, but for as long as the class goes after the first session, your child receives a 50% discount.
