Pilates is a system of mind-body exercise done on the floor, “mat work,” or utilizing apparatus specially designed by Joseph Pilates for resistance-based, whole body conditioning. It is a low impact form of exercise, making it great for all “bodies”. Pilates apparatus’ unique design utilizes spring resistance to strengthen the body as an integrated unit, rather than just targeting isolated muscle groups. Pilates uses minimum repetitions to get maximum results! Each Pilates exercise is performed in a precise and controlled manner. Focus on breath, quality and precision of movement is what sets Pilates apart from other exercise programs.
The Pilates Studio at HealthQuest is fully equipped with the traditional spring based apparatus designed by Joseph Pilates. In addition, we have the Balanced Body CoreAlign system, an extraordinarily versatile piece of equipment with hundreds of completely new and unique movement exercises. Our studio is dedicated to providing Pilates instruction in a safe, supportive and warm environment. All exercises are tailored to the individual body to support your fitness and wellness goals.
Classes are offered 6 days a week. We offer group classes (5-6 people) for all levels. We also offer private and semi-private sessions, upon request.
Non-members of HealthQuest are welcome to be part of the Pilates Studio!

“So Pilates wasn’t really on my radar but I had recently been trying to change up my routine from the constant pounding of high intensity workouts when I heard about the Pilates Challenge. Since it included 5 class hoppers for free I decided to give it a try. At first I was frustrated because I have limited time at the gym and I like to break a sweat. We obviously were required to start with beginner classes and I just couldn’t see how this type of workout could provide what I was looking for and improve my overall fitness level. After about the first 3 classes I started to realize just how week I was in areas. I had always thought my legs were my strongest asset yet I started to notice how weak my inner thigh muscles were. I was also realizing my core was not quite as strong as I had thought. Then as I continued to take classes and learn proper form and technique I noticed I was breaking a sweat. When I first started with Pilates, I watched the clock waiting for the class to be over. By the end of the Challenge I was surprised how fast the time went and didn’t want the class to end. I realize now that you don’t have to go at 100 miles an hour in every workout but you need to balance your workouts in order to get optimal results. Pilates provides that balance.”

What’s NEW in the Studio?
Pilates for Youth
Children’s bodies are in a constant state of change and development. Through Pilates, children will gain better awareness of their body, improve posture/spinal alignment, and move more efficiently with good use of core muscle engagement. The Pilates Studio is happy to offer Youth private Pilates sessions. Cost of 10 sessions is $405. Each session with be one-on-one with a trained instructor and will be 45 minutes.
