Pilates is a system of mind-body exercise done on the floor, “mat work,” or utilizing apparatus specially designed by Joseph Pilates for resistance-based, whole body conditioning. It is a low impact form of exercise, making it great for all “bodies”. Pilates apparatus’ unique design utilizes spring resistance to strengthen the body as an integrated unit, rather than just targeting isolated muscle groups. Pilates uses minimum repetitions to get maximum results! Each Pilates exercise is performed in a precise and controlled manner. Focus on breath, quality and precision of movement is what sets Pilates apart from other exercise programs.
The Pilates Studio at HealthQuest is fully equipped with the traditional spring based apparatus designed by Joseph Pilates. In addition, we have the Balanced Body CoreAlign system, an extraordinarily versatile piece of equipment with hundreds of completely new and unique movement exercises. Our studio is dedicated to providing Pilates instruction in a safe, supportive and warm environment. All exercises are tailored to the individual body to support your fitness and wellness goals.
Classes are offered 6 days a week. We offer group classes (5-6 people) for all levels. We also offer private and semi-private sessions, upon request.
Non-members of HealthQuest are welcome to be part of the Pilates Studio!

“Last year, while I was going through chemotherapy for breast cancer, Deb A suggested that I try a Pilates Reformer class. I thought she was crazy! Why would I want to try a new class when I was already cutting back on my workouts? My endurance was gone and I couldn’t use any of the machines in the Fitness Center or lift weights without getting exhausted. It turns out, Pilates was exactly what I needed. With each class I could feel my strength, flexibility and confidence improving. It doesn’t matter if you are rehabilitating from an illness or a seasoned athlete, you can benefit from Pilates. So many workouts focus on moving faster and lifting heavier weights. Pilates teaches you to slow down, focus, breathe and watch your body get stronger.” – Bev E.
“After suffering with chronic back pain for years, I began taking Pilates with Stephanie 18 months ago and I can tell you that it has truly changed my quality of life. I rarely have pain and when I do it is not nearly as severe or long lasting. I recently had a physical and when my height was taken I was told that I had magically grown an inch! My core is stronger and posture much improved. One of the things that I really like about Pilates is that there are literally 100’s of different exercises that focus on one’s specific needs and as you get stronger the exercises get more challenging. My only regret is that I didn’t start doing Pilates years ago!” -Dr. Paul Marciano

Lauren Loftus, Dianne Perez, and Pam Deighan. Our challengers saw changes in posture, core strength, flexibility and overall muscle balance! Here’s what they thought:
“So Pilates wasn’t really on my radar but I had recently been trying to change up my routine from the constant pounding of high intensity workouts when I heard about the Pilates Challenge. Since it included 5 class hoppers for free I decided to give it a try. At first I was frustrated because I have limited time at the gym and I like to break a sweat. We obviously were required to start with beginner classes and I just couldn’t see how this type of workout could provide what I was looking for and improve my overall fitness level. After about the first 3 classes I started to realize just how week I was in areas. I had always thought my legs were my strongest asset yet I started to notice how weak my inner thigh muscles were. I was also realizing my core was not quite as strong as I had thought. Then as I continued to take classes and learn proper form and technique I noticed I was breaking a sweat. When I first started with Pilates, I watched the clock waiting for the class to be over. By the end of the Challenge I was surprised how fast the time went and didn’t want the class to end. I realize now that you don’t have to go at 100 miles an hour in every workout but you need to balance your workouts in order to get optimal results. Pilates provides that balance.”
“The best thing was it forced me to try other classes like mat Pilates, booty barre and TRX. Before I kinda stuck to cardio and Pilates reformer. The upside to HQ, I bought a classhopper pkg! The upside to me, I now see some positive body changes and realized that there are other work outs I should be doing. And I’ve learned to enjoy them!”
“The Commit to fit Challenge was a GREAT idea! I tried things out of my comfort zone and really enjoyed it! But most important, I feel great!”
