Monica A. Meyer, MD, Integrative Medicine Medical Director
Dr. Meyer received her medical degree at Thomas Jefferson University, Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia and is board-certified in Integrative Medicine by the American Board of Integrative and Holistic Medicine. She has been practicing Integrative Medicine for over 15 years and specializes in nutrition and mind-body techniques. Her patient care philosophy emphasizes the European Model, in which every patient encounter offers an integrative approach that combines conventional and complementary treatment options.
Tamara Berisha, M.S., L.Ac., L.M.T., Integrative Medicine Program Director
Ms. Berisha holds a Master’s degree in Acupuncture and an Associates degree in Massage Therapy from The Swedish Institute. She studied Chinese Herbal Medicine under the guidance of world-renowned teacher Jeffrey Yuen, a Taoist doctor and priest. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Hunter College. Ms. Berisha emphasizes a compassionate approach that takes into account the patient’s entire lifestyle. Her acupuncture, massage, herbal and nutrition treatments are designed to help patients get to the root of the cause of their discomfort, whether it be a new symptom or chronic condition.
Ashley Scott
Ashley Scott is the Patient Service Representative for Hunterdon Healthcare Integrative Medicine. She is an AFAA Certified Personal Trainer and Fitness Nutrition Specialist and holds a BA in Psychology from Fairleigh Dickinson. She is currently pursuing her degree in Nursing. She is passionate about health and wellness and believes in a holistic and preventive approach.
Ann Anderson
Ann is a Registered Nurse specializing in Hospice for 21 years, Ann Anderson understands how important relaxation, meditation and stress relief is for patients, families and medical personnel. She has collected, studied and played singing bowls for about 5 years. She is also a Reiki Master in the Tibetan/Usui tradition as taught by William Lee Rand of the ICRT, and has a certificate of completion of the Master Level program of the Singing Bowls of the Himalayas from 9 Ways Academia of Quakertown. PA. She is a member of the Harmonic Therapy Society and the American Holistic Nurses Association.
Diane April-Cooper
Diane April-Cooper is a Reiki Master and Teacher and has maintained a private practice for over 15 years. She is also a Medical Technologist and works in the Hunterdon Regional Cancer Center where she started a volunteer Reiki program for patients which has been incorporated into the hospital. Diane has extensive studies in several forms of energy therapies and also teaches simple stress reduction techniques.
Martha Hernandez
Martha discovered yoga in 2001 in New York City. She has studied in various studios in New York City, New Jersey, California and Arizona. She earned her RYT 200 hour certification in 2010 and soon after her RYT 500 hour certification. She has been an E-RYT 500 since 2014 and is currently the director of a yoga teacher training school in Flemington.
Whether teaching “first-timers” or yoga veterans, each class Martha teaches offers a sensibly sequenced, alignment-based, challenging, physical practice that offers light-heartedness and little “something, something”. She creates a fun, safe, and supportive environment to challenge her students to reach their full potential. Martha is certified in Reiki, Tai Yoga Massage, and Yoga for Cancer.
Luanne Lange
Luanne is a long time resident of Hunterdon County. She has been practicing Reiki since 2002 and has achieved Reiki Teacher Level.
Melissa Pickell
Melissa Pickell, R.D. is a holistic nutrition counselor whose passion is “helping others find nutrition solutions to have their best possible health and accomplishing this through delicious whole foods and joyful eating”.
She has been a registered dietitian for 30 years, the last 10 in private practice. Her specialties are: working with people who have food sensitivities; nutrition for inflammatory conditions (fibromyalgia, Lyme Disease, Ulcerative Colitis to name a few); weight loss coaching using mindful eating techniques and whole food; diet makeovers for individuals or families (including pantry); special ingredient-restricted diets such as gluten-free, dairy-free, egg-free; whole food plant-based diets; nutrition for many different health conditions including heart disease and insulin resistance.
Pickell is a Certified LEAP (Lifestyle Education & Performance) Counselor specializing in addressing inflammatory conditions caused by non-IgE food sensitivity, such as IBS, migraine, fibromyalgia, arthritis and more. She offers Mediator Release Food Sensitivity Testing through her practice.
Pickell’s book Marvelous Meatless Meals…Gluten, Dairy & Refined Sugar Free Recipes for Everyday is available on Amazon.com and for all e-readers.
Pickell manages a Facebook page called Marvelous Meatless Meals, which offers plant-based food ideas, restaurant reviews, and traveling plant-based and gluten-free.
Ms. Pickell has been studying Healing Touch energy therapy and will become a Healing Touch Practitioner by the end of 2015.
Eleanor Schreiber
Eleanor is a level III Reiki Master and Teacher. She started practicing Reiki several years ago after being introduced to it by a dear friend. Eleanor has been with Hunterdon Medical Center for 23 years. She works as the Coordinator for Palliative Care and as the Patient Care Representative for Pain Management. She is also the Reiki practitioner for both services.
