Integrative Medicine

The mission of Hunterdon Healthcare’s Integrative Medicine Program is to empower individuals to achieve a state of optimal health by nurturing the mind, body and spirit, through the integration of evidence-based complementary and conventional therapies. Our vision is to develop a nationally recognized Integrative Medicine Center that provides our community with a comprehensive approach to care.

What is Integrative Medicine?

Integrative Medicine is defined as an approach to care that seeks to integrate the best of Western scientific medicine with a broader understanding of the nature of illness, healing, and wellness. It treats the whole person by examining lifestyle, relationships, diet and state of mind while offering treatment options that support the body’s natural ability to heal itself.
Integrative Medicine emphasizes patient empowerment and prevention by better controlling symptoms such as anxiety, stress, pain, nausea, insomnia and fatigue and offering dietary and lifestyle changes that can relieve or even reverse the effects of chronic diseases.
True healing is not limited to physical recovery, but must also include a recovery of mental, emotional and spiritual well-being.
